March for Meals Campaign
Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley is participating again this year in the national 2010 March for Meals campaign and actively encouraging everyone to take the Pledge to end senior hunger in America by 2020.
“March for Meals” is an annual campaign to raise public awareness of senior hunger, recruit new volunteers to deliver meals, and increase local fundraising for Meals on Wheels. On March 24th as part of “Mayors for Meals”, mayors across the country will show their support by delivering meals. We’re hoping many of the mayors from cities in the Salinas Valley will join us in delivering meals to assure that homebound seniors have enough food to eat.
Take the Pledge to end senior hunger
in America by 2020
A major aspect of the 2010 March for Meals campaign is for Americans to team up with their local Meals on Wheels program and take the Pledge to end senior hunger in America by 2020. Our goal is to recruit as many people as we can in the Salinas Valley to join us in taking the Pledge. Just click the button below and follow the links to complete the Pledge. You can also come by our office or call us at 831.758.6325 and we’ll sign you up on our Pledge list.

This national movement comes at a good time, as recent MOWAA research studies have revealed that the problem of senior hunger in America is indeed growing worse. Currently, one in nine seniors is at risk of hunger in the United States. Let’s all do our part to make sure no senior goes hungry!
